A great place to work.
Pros: Wonderful people, beautiful offices, interesting clientele. One of the best companies I ever worked for. I made wonderful friends there among my co-workers, not to mention with Princess, the office cat! Cons: It's a small company, and a small, rural area. At a different time in my life, it would have been perfect forever. But if you like that way of living and working, it's ideal. Sometimes clients can be challenging, but can't they all? Advice to management: Thank you. GPM changed my life.
Run away!
Pros: cool people, "fun time" activities, lovely office Cons: culture of gossip and blame, lack of humility, unbalanced salary structure between sales and creative departments, lots of micromanaging and catty, petty actions that come down from the top. Advice to management: stop taking your excellent people for granted. Pay your creatives better.
Small agency with a corporate mindset.
Pros: Some genuinely nice people. Cons: Management runs this small town agency with a corporate mindset. "Fun events" seem forced and there's some definite frustration festering just underneath the skin of many of the overworked employees. "Salaried" employees are treated like hourly employees, often being docked for time for family emergencies and holidays. Promises of bonuses and telecommuting options seldom materialize and/or do not meet the expectations set forth from management. Advice to management: Relax and learn to trust your people. The tighter the grip, the faster they'll run.
A Favorite Professional Experience
Pros: Great atmosphere, wonderful team, lovely offices, optimal work/life balance, respected for work and contributions, felt valued and appreciated, good work was recognized and rewarded, excellent client management, generous deadlines, manageable work load. Cons: for me the only con was the long commute; only reason I chose to leave. Advice to management: Maintain the team spirit, open communication and sense of pride and purpose.
Great team environment
Pros: Excellent team - all are extremely talented and skilled. Always felt like my opinion was important to the overall success of the company and that I wasn't "just an employee." Had many great mentors over my years and built life long friendships. Always felt supported and valued. Also a fun environment with team building activities. Cons: At the time it just didn't offer the type of career growth opportunities I was seeking. Advice to management: Continue to focus on team building, involving staff in company decisions and provide future growth opportunities.
Small Town Agency / Big City Work
Pros: I spent 4 years with this agency and loved it. We had the great opportunity to do big, eye-catching creative work in a small agency local to my hometown. The boss is great - listens, adjusts, trusts. I didn't feel micromanaged or creatively crushed. In fact, I did some of my best work within those walls. I was free to – and encouraged to – try new things and stretch my legs. Cons: The commute became tougher for me, and there wasn't much room for growth to coincide with my skill level. Advice to management: Keep on keepin. GPM is a little jewel for the creatives in the area.
Good people, fake environment
Pros: Fun events and some co-workers can be fun. Cons: There's no real room for growth unless you want to become an Account Executive. Gossip is a real problem here and some people would rather gossip than address issues face to face, this doesn't seem to change at all. Upper management is very aggressive leading by what feels like bullying rather than by strategic planning. Excuses for pretty much everything and always putting on a fake facade. Advice to management: X, listen to your employees and don't present a cold shoulder, show that you are actively listening and have an interest in…
Lucky to Have Big Time Company in Small Town Setting
Pros: A consistently growing company that has many of the benefits of a corporation but still maintains a small, family-like atmosphere. Perks include fun company events, tuition assistance, continuing education that is not only strongly encouraged but paid for, nice benefits, no micro managers, and super cool people. Cons: Lucky to have an advertising agency that works with clients nationwide in a small rural community. Unfortunately, that means the drive can be long for many. But I'll do the long drive for this company. Advice to management: Keep doing what you're doing. Keep looking for…

Great Place To Work!
Pros: Great Company Culture. Great People. Great Work/Life Balance. Cons: While working with a niche product can be nice because you become an expert on it, it can be mundane at times, but there are still opportunities to mix up the workflow.
When they say family friendly, they mean it.
Pros: Everyone who works here is someone I would happily go grab a beer with. I genuinely appreciate what everyone brings to the table, even if there are days we disagree. The company offers flex time (!!!) which has helped to create a wonderful work/life balance. Lets creative people be creative with fun times, easter egg hunts, and an annual trip to Knoebel's. Pros: I have worked at GPM for many years. I have watched employees come and go and I have watched many changes take place within the company. I can honestly say I know of no other company that treats their employees so good. With constant interactions from fun time to field trips to internal meetings, GPM keeps the team involved with each other which is key to maintaining a happy, stable company. Close-knit culture, interesting work, lots of fun
Pros: I found my GPM co-workers to be an awesome group of fun, life-loving people. Plus, they're really talented individuals. I worked in the web services group and I was surrounded by people who were great at their craft and enjoyed sharing knowledge with each other. As a remote employee (another awesome pro of working for GPM), I connected with my team regularly on slack and conference calls. I didn't feel like I was on an island and I appreciated that. Better to avoid
Pros: They only do dental marketing, so you do become knowledgeable in one niche. Cons: They claim to have “open and honest” communication, but don’t practice it. If you speak up, it’s usually used against you. Micromanaging is an understatement, they don’t have trust in your capabilities. They want “yes” people only.

Best Job I've Had
Pros: The opportunities for continuing education (and then USING what you learn) along with the actual work/life balance at GPM is so rare in marketing agencies. When they say 40 hours, they mean ONLY 40 hours. The benefits (health, dental, vision, maternity/paternity leave, PTO, 401k, paid holidays, even life insurance) are way above the average for marketing agencies.
